The church needed an easy to update site, so I installed Wordpress and created a design for them. We are also working on promoting the site online and offline.

Don’t Let Network Solutions Steal Your Domain Name!
My upsteam providers reported to me today that Network Solutions has been stealing domain names from people who are trying to register them.
Here’s how it works:
Let’s say you want to register MyDogIsMolly.com. So you head over to your favorite WHOIS site to perform a domain name lookup, which in this case uses Network Solutions’ lookup service. Upon seeing that the domain is available, you head over to their domain registrar of choice to purchase the domain.
But that’s where things get ugly.
Before you can even buy the domain name, you discover that it is suddenly unavailable. WHAT?!
According to the DomainTools.com blog, you’ll have to wait four days, during which reports are showing that Network Solutions holds your domain hostage. You can still register it — but only if you pay Network Solutions $35. Even better, Network Solutions claims that they’re protecting your interests by doing this. Not sure about that logic…
Here is what you can do to protect yourself:
- Do your domain lookups on a site that does not use the Network Solutions lookup service. I recommend you use the lookup at Watersweb Hosting.
